Lyndsay Fraser
Growing up in the wilds of northern Ontario with sap on my skin and twigs in my hair, I developed a lifelong obsession for science and nature. I have spent my career working in various environmental and sustainability education roles and have a master’s degree in environmental education and communication. I’m a self-described nature nut, bird nerd, and insect enthusiast and am happiest when outside investigating the amazing natural history that surrounds us. I’m so excited to get out and explore with many nature-loving families in the Comox Valley through NatureKids BC!
Mary Vasey
Mary was born and raised on Vancouver Island. Since she was young she has enjoyed exploring tidepools, hiking in the woods, and climbing trees. Mary has a diverse academic background in biology, environmental studies, and clean energy engineering. She's passionate about her work in the renewable energy industry and spends time in nature to stay grounded. Mary looks forward to connecting with other local families that are ready to meet up and enjoy the natural gems in and around Nanaimo. When she's not volunteering with NatureKids, you can find her identifying local plants, birding, or exploring the great outdoors with her little one.
Marni Brown
Originally hailing from the US, Marni moved to British Columbia in early 2020. She has an academic background in environmental biology, a career focus in outdoor education, and a passion for teaching and inspiring youth. Finding NatureKidsBC was a perfect fit for Marni, and she is excited to be leading the Nanaimo club. She gets her energy from nature and loves sharing that excitement with her community. When she's not working on your next program, you can find her chasing butterflies, paddling the seas, climbing rocks, foraging for mushrooms, and skiing down mountains!

Hi! I am new to BC, moving here from Ontario. The natural beauty of this province is what really pushed me to get out here. In my free time, I can almost guarantee that I am either out biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing or doing some other outdoor activity! Throughout my time working as a summer camp director, I realized how much I love working outside with children and want to continue doing work like this – which is how I ended up with Nature Kids! I’m so excited to incorporate my love for nature with my passion for working with kids. Let’s go explore NatureKids Vancouver!
