My name is Meagan Trescher, and I am 25-years old. This summer I will be completing a summer internship with NatureKidsBC. I was born in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, but shortly after my family moved to Ontario. I am currently a student at Algonquin College in Ottawa, and I am enrolled in the Early Learning and Community Development degree program where I discovered my passion for nature-based learning. However, my passion for early learning began in 2015 during my enrollment in the Early Childhood Education program at Algonquin College. I discovered how much early year experiences can influence children’s development and this is where I became interested in this line of work. I am now a registered early childhood educator. I still visit family and friends in British Columbia and when I do my favourite outdoor spots on Vancouver Island are Rosewall creek located outside of Fanny Bay, Coombs old country market, and Tribune Bay provincial Beach located on Hornby Island. I also enjoy watching Netflix, creating polymer clay earrings, and although I am a homebody, I do like riding my bike on the Rideau Canal here in Ottawa.
