Volunteers are the heart of our organization. We provide flexible positions with ongoing support to ensure you can be at your best. Explore our volunteer positions below and see how you can help!

CLUB LEADERS

Nature Club Leaders are the most vital component of our organization, as they are the ones who create and deliver programming. We could not exist without their effort! We have 50+ leaders across BC who devote 6,300 hours of their time in total to local nature leadership. Working alone or with co-leaders, Nature Club Leaders organize and deliver Explorer Days for children and their families across the province and go out of their way to educate and inspire our youth members about nature.

As a club leader, your primary responsibility is to organize outdoor field trips called Explorer Days. If you share our passion for connecting kids with nature, enjoy organizing activities, and can help plan about 10 Explorer Days a year, this is perfect for you! We provide training, support and liability insurance.

You can join a local nature club or start your own! If you are interested in volunteering as a club leader please reach out to Katelyn at coordinator@naturekidsbc.ca

NATURE MENTORS

Nature Mentors share expertise, skills and knowledge about the natural world with young families in their community on Explorer Day field trips. Nature Mentors include naturalists, artists, educators, researchers, university students — anyone with an interest in sharing their love of nature with the next generation. We can put you in touch with club leaders in your communities and you can lead a program on the topic of your choice based on your expertise.
