KELOWNA

January 19, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm PST

Dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts!

Our upcoming adventure is all about dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts!  How do scientists learn new things about creatures that have been gone for millions of years?  What are some new discoveries made recently?  Where are the best places to find fossils and preserved remains?  Why did some species grow so big?

When: Sunday, Jan 19th @ 1-3pm

Where: Mission Creek Park Gazebo

What to Bring: warm outdoor clothes, water and snack if desired, the name of your favorite prehistoric creatures (doesn’t have to be a dinosaur)

Note: This activity will take place entirely outdoors, with a craft portion being completed at the gazebo tables which I have booked for our use.  Please plan your wardrobe accordingly as the weather may be cold and wet.
It is especially important to RSVP to this Explorer Day as the leader will be bringing a special gift for each attendee.  Please RSVP to kelowna (at) naturekidsbc.ca by early Saturday Jan 18th.

Explorer Day Etiquette:

  • Be prepared to HAVE FUN!
  • Pre-registration with your Club Leader is required for most Explorer Days (Friends are welcome if space permits).
  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure enough time for passport stamping and organization. Starting times are firm, and Leaders cannot wait for late-comers!
  • Please stay with the Leader and let them know if you are leaving early.
  • Children must always be accompanied by an adult guardian, who is responsible for their behaviour. Children consistently disrupting the experience of others may be asked to leave.
  • Bring appropriate weather gear, sunscreen, snacks, water, and other useful tools like binoculars, sketch books, cameras, and magnifying glasses.
