She has a degree in Conservation of Natural Resources and Management from the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and a Master’s in Science also from UBC.
Sarah started her outdoor education experience working for BC Parks as a park interpreter in 2008, where she ran the Gerry Rangers programs for three major parks along the Sea to Sky Corridor. She also worked as a land-based program coordinator in Kugluktuk, Nunavut for three-years, where she developed and delivered week-long outdoor education programs for grade 10-12 high school students.
For the past three years, Sarah and Rachel have been volunteering as leaders for the BC NatureKids Club for the Nicola Valley chapter. The club is a great opportunity for families, with children ages 5 to 12 years old, to play outside and learn about the local flora, fauna, and ecosystems It has been a joy to see the club grow in membership.
When she’s not volunteering you can find her getting inspired outside with her partner and two kids. Sarah also like baking, soapmaking, beekeeping and gardening.
